About

A pragmatic voice for all Albertans.

Common Sense Alberta is a platform for Albertans who want serious political conversation that respects working people, takes ideas seriously, and is unafraid to defend the province's interests within Canada.

Who we are

An independent civic platform

We are a digital platform and member community for Albertans who want practical politics - not slogans, not noise, not campaign theatre.

Why we exist

Because fact-based policy matters

Public conversation in Alberta deserves better than the loudest voices on social media. We believe in fact-based policy - because when decisions are made on emotion alone, we all have to live with the facts of the reality that follows.

Who we serve

Alberta and its people, first and always

For every citizen, resident, and visitor of Alberta - families, workers, small businesses, farmers, energy producers, and the people who call this province home or simply pass through it.

Our principles

Eight principles that guide everything we publish and every conversation we host.

  1. 01

    Common Sense Government

Government should be practical, accountable, affordable, and focused on results.

  2. 02

    Freedom and Responsibility

We support freedom of speech, conscience, worship, assembly, and personal responsibility.

  3. 03

    Strong Families and Communities

Families, local communities, charities, and voluntary associations are the foundation of a healthy society.

  4. 04

    Fiscal Responsibility

Taxpayer dollars should be managed carefully, transparently, and with respect for working people.

  5. 05

    Free Enterprise and Opportunity

Alberta grows when entrepreneurs, workers, farmers, energy producers, and small businesses can succeed.

  6. 06

    Alberta First Within Canada

Alberta should defend its constitutional rights, economic interests, resources, and way of life within Canada.

  7. 07

    Respectful Debate

Members should be able to discuss policy honestly without censorship, intimidation, or personal attacks.

  8. 08

    Connected Across Rural and Urban

For Alberta to prosper, our rural and urban communities must thrive together - sharing opportunity, infrastructure, and a common future.
